Body Oriented Trauma Therapy
These integrative sessions are an opportunity to release past traumatic events from your body. They enable you to connect more closely with your spirit and help you to stimulate and rebuild your inner healing ability.
When an unsettling event happens, and it is not completed in the body, the event becomes “frozen” or stuck in the nervous system, causing the person to become what is called “traumatized”. This makes the nervous system “dysregulated”, which mean that is functions with less efficiently, resulting in problems, such as: feeling weak without energy, not sleeping well, stress felt from even simple events, unfocused thoughts and not feeling like yourself, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
During the session traumatic events are identified in the body and helped to discharge using the method of Somatic Experiencing®.
A form of energetic therapy “Attunement” is then shared, which balances the internal body systems and further assists in the nervous system’s discharging process.
When the nervous system begins to “unfreeze”, it can be noticed by the body releasing in such ways as: a deep natural breath, stomach rumbling, growling or gurgling , yawning, the body shaking (finishing incomplete movements), a sigh, feeling hot or cold, laughter, a single tear, and other body discharges.
Sessions include Spiritual Guidance, which assists you to make sense of what is happening to your life, and helps guide you to become healthier and more vibrant.
